So … we have come to the transition. I’m a bit ahead of her here. I took a dry route across some rocks and moved ahead to a point from which I could take a few pics as she caught up. And so begins the hike proper. Just steps off the road, getting into the rough, clambering in the general direction of where the trail should be. Since the creek had overflowed its banks, “hiking” the creekside trail often as not became a scramble over random rocks, trying to stay out of the water and muck. Here Mrs. Pix is trying to stay above all that, making for interesting body position. A foretaste of things to come.

This is one of my all-time favorite photos of Mrs. Pix, taken at the top of a waterfall in the mountains. We had spent a beautiful morning hiking up from the valley below, with Mrs. Pix hiking completely nude, wearing only her hiking shoes and signature cowboy hat, as is our favorite custom. This was our turn-around point, where we stopped for rest, a snack, and some time to just kick back and enjoy the natural beauty around us.
We were aware from circumstances at the trailhead that there was one pair of hikers somewhere ahead of us on the trail. While at this turn around, we heard this pair nearing us on their return leg, and briefly secured Mrs. Pix from view as they passed; otherwise, we encountered no one else on this hike, either up or down. A beautiful day communing intimately with nature and each other. It doesn’t get any better.
You might guess that many more photos were taken, and you would be right. Over time you will see many more, but to me, this one is really special.

This offering is in response to continuing interest in seeing more of Mrs. Pix as she hikes naked in the wild. Here I’ve stitched together several clips from one particular hike, a couple of them “Go-Pro” style following her from behind and one from a stationary perspective showing a frontal view. From beginning to end, this is a bit less than four minutes (I know some of you like to have a few minutes to fully … umm … “enjoy” what you see), while the actual hike was more than two hours. On this hike that whole his time was enjoyed in complete solitude, with no chance encounters or getting busted. Short though it is, what you see in this clip is very typical of our hiking experience.
Btw, you see her carrying trekking poles, but not using them much; the terrain here doesn’t really call for that kind of support, but she uses them also to probe loose leaf litter for snakes and push aside brush that might otherwise scratch her naked skin. A girl has to be careful …

We anticipated that the day would clear, but as nipply as it was, she wavered understandably about whether to wear any clothes. But boldness won out and she set forth from the trailhead wearing only her cowboy hat and hiking shoes. This happened to be one of those hikes during which we got busted. On the other hand, when hiking downhill, it is much more natural to look farther ahead, enjoying the scenery. Well, we had failed to notice this couple coming from a long distance and the naked Mrs. Pix had been part of their scenery for quite some time.
By the time they were upon us, Mrs. Pix was ALMOST covered, red faced – I was shaking my head, laughing – and our fellow travelers were passing us with chuckles stifled down to polite smiles, offer just a discreet “Good morning” and continuing on their way. To her TOTAL credit, we had hiked on just another 50 feet or so when Mrs. Pix paused and peeled off her cover, handing it back to me and continued the hike back to our car completely naked. Awesome.
