Apologies in advance for the mundane. No doubt, my attempt at being candid will confirm the adage that less is more.
My blog is defined by several personal outlets. A journal one day. A portfolio another. A notebook yet another. Long time followers have probably surmised that for me, my musings take center stage with the photographs serving supporting roles. No other limitations apply, however. It may be happy, melancholy, simple, or profound. The timing and frequency of my posts is serendipitous.
The posts are addressed in some fashion or another to my beloved, but shared with the community. His inspiration is constant, but I cannot say for sure whether limits are pushed, and if so, by whom. The probability in a long, rich marriage is that it is neither of us, one of us, and both of us - all at different times. The stuff of philosophers.
From the first, my sharing has held fast without a clear visage. The reasons for not posting my face include those you can guess as well as simply personal preference. The audience reception has ranged from appreciation to intolerance. I understand for some, the images of less than the whole can be off-putting. In any event, a frame of reference for those who seek more is a facial resemblance to the actress Joan Severance.
Among my roles in life, wife to an amazing man ranks at the top. It is easy to banter about how lucky he is, but our dynamic is well balanced. We are fortunate to enjoy both Paris and New York as our homes. I take advantage of our surroundings for captured moments and do not spend much time staging. Also may not look it, but a fair number of my images are self-shot.
As a community member, I enjoy most the glimpses of the lives, loves and desires of others. Perhaps not as raw or kinky as the norm. Like most, I tend towards familiarity. What I post mirrors what I value in others. Eroticism and artful exhibition. But nor do I retreat from the different.
This site may not be perfect, but it has suited me perfectly fine. The kind invitation to participate with this thread is example enough.
Hope to read others' revelations in turn. Kisses.
